World Water Day Celebrated at Government Degree College Chatroo (Kishtwar)

Today on 22nd of March 2022: Department of Environmental Science Govt Degree College Chatroo organised a seminar on the theme “Groundwater, Making the invisible visible” under the guidance of Dr. Shafqat Hussain Rafiqui (Principal GDC Chatroo).
The program was started with a welcome address by Prof. Chander Prakash (HOD History GDC Chatroo).
Other speakers which include Prof. Ajeet Kumar (HOD Dept. of Environmental Science GDC Chatroo) discussed in detail about the water conservation, role of students to aware general public about the water conservation, rain water harvesting, watershed management techniques and economic use of water in daily life from personal use to irrigation purposes etc.
Prof. Wasim Rasheed (HOD Zoology GDC Chatroo) provided the data which shows 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water worldwide and discussed how to control the wastage of water in daily life.
Students of GDC Chatroo also participated in the seminar, among the student speakers were Amir Reshi, Aroofa Malik, Sangeeta Kumari , Nisar Ahmed and Ayesha Bashir.
Other faculty members who were present in seminar include,
Dr. Ashiq Hussain, Dr Jamshed Ahmed, Dr. Jai Vardhane, Dr Muddassar Nazar, Prof. Chering Durjee and Dr. Shabir Ahmed.
Mr Muddasir Hussain Butt (Department of Arabic GDC Chatroo) concluded the event with a formal vote of thanks to all the participants.
