Tipper driver, PDD casual labourer electrocuted to death in Bandipora

Bandipora, Nov 28(KNO): A tipper driver and a casual labourer from Power Development Department (PDD) department were on Saturday electrocuted to death in two separate incidents in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the deceased identified as Assadullah Parray, son of Abul Jabar Parray of Markundal, aged 35 years, received an electric shock while repairing a transformer in Markundal area of Sumbal in Bandipora.
Parray, who was working as a casual labourer in the PDD department, succumbed to his injuries soon after he was taken to the nearby hospital for treatment, he said.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a tipper driver was also electrocuted to death in Shadipora area of Sumbal this evening.
The official said that the deceased has been identified as Sheer Ahmad, son of Abdul Waheed of Banihal Ramban, aged 22 years was electrocuted to death when his vehicle came in contact with High Tension (HT) electric wire.
He said that the investigations are underway to see if there was any negligence on part of the department.
Meanwhile, Sumbal police has registered a case and further investigations were taken up—(KNO)
